SEBAGO LAKE (MAP) is the second largest lake in the state, measuring approximately 37 miles around and includes the towns of Sebago, Standish, Windham, Raymond, Casco and Naples. Sebago is part of what is known as the Sebago/Long Lake Chain. Sebago is approximately 8 miles wide and 12 miles long and is 316 ft. at the deepest point. It is a great lake for fishing and boating and home to the famous landlocked Salmon. The westerly shore of the lake (Route 114 side) has changed very little over the years with summer communities doting the shore. The easterly Route 302 side in North Windham is the shopping center of the Lakes Region and is built up a bit. However the towns of Raymond and Casco are rural in nature. Lakeside development is predominately residential, and not affected by the proximity of the shopping areas. Because of the large expanse of open water Sebago Lake can, on occasion, become quite rough and can do so quite quickly. It is however, a wonderful lake for sailing and motor boating.
